Using the freshest ingredients, Romina Lamassa expresses her pride in the cuisine of her native Italy through her dishes. At Lamassa, we make this return to our origins a reality through a true gastronomic experience of the most fascinating Italian flavors.
Be part of this journey!
Romina Lamassa was born in Altamura, in the Puglia region. Of this fertile territory, rich in wheat fields, vineyards and olive groves, he only has memories of his maternal grandparents’ stories, because he settled with his family in the Campania region of southern Italy at an early age.
His childhood and adolescence were spent in the province of Salerno, in the mountainous area of Cilento, a World Heritage landscape and the land of his father from whom he inherited the name Lamassa (yes, it really is his surname and not a pun on the name of his restaurant). He grew up watching his mother Margherita and grandmother Domenica make their own pasta, which they wanted to be “al dente”! And he has very vivid memories of the women of his land, around a large wooden table, preparing and selling a typical pasta called “orecchiette” in the street. From an early age he was interested in manual tasks, and shaping dough by hand was one of them.
But the empathy she felt for “four-legged” animals led her to study veterinary medicine in Naples. During this period, while working in a well-known restaurant in the city, he discovered his passion for the world of catering. After graduating, he decided to gain experience in his field and headed for the Italian capital – majestic Rome. But it’s Portugal that will win her heart. In 2012, already married to a Portuguese man, she chose this country to live and work in.
In Portugal, she doesn’t find the pasta she used to have in Italy and notices that there isn’t the variety of ingredients she used to eat, especially in terms of vegetables and other seasonal products. An idea that he feels more and more certain about is beginning to bubble up: opening a house, a meeting place for Italian gastronomy. Perhaps an encounter with herself.
This is how the Lamassa restaurant came to be, created to pay homage to the rich and diverse ingredients and traditional flavors that make authentic Italian cuisine one of the best in the world!

Without a doubt the best fresh handmade pasta in Lisbon. Super fresh ingredients and the most friendly staff. The atmosphere is cozy and they always have delicious specials. On that day i tried the panzerotti and it was really amazing! I’ve been in Lamassa a few times and they never disappoint. Can’t recommend more. 11NigelR2024-03-07Verificada Excellent pasta restaurant in Estoril Thursday night walked up and it was full at 7:45, took my number and called back in half an hour. Food was excellent, starter was quite large probably to share but hey! Main I had was mushroom Pappardelle and the pasta was perfectly cooked. House wine is nice (red from Lisbon region) and service excellent. Not in your face but there if you need them. Great place, highly recommend! Espen2024-02-20Verificada God mat, god service, ok pris. Var ned min sønn for en middag. Enkel restaurant med god mat. Ok pris. Jon Hourihan2023-12-17Verificada Superb. Definitely the best pasta outside of Italy. Reserved a table on the second sitting, around 2100. Great menu and good pricing. We opted for the ‘baked’ Provolone cheese starter with bread. I have the ravioli di carne, my wife choosing the tagliatelle with gorgonzola. A side salad. Bottle of Primitivo. And a light lemon cake (like a lemon meringue) and a fabulous pistachio cheesecake completed the menu. The pasta is special. Light and fresh. In some restaurants they serve too much of a main course, some too little. Here the portion size was perfect. However, if there was a 2nd helping… I’m sure no-one would decline. It’s a winner. antonella c2023-11-10Verificada Sapori Italiani Trovato per caso ma assolutamente da provare!! Pasta all’italiana buonissima!! Personale accogliente e gentile. Da provare! krayon592023-10-19Verificada Busy, popular, loud and delicious. Delightful pasta creations, always cooked perfectly. the restaurant does two seatings at 7 and 9 so do not plan the perfect 8 o'clock time slot :-) There are salads and carpaccio, stuffed and long noodle pastas with and without meat. Mushroom, gorgonzola and burrata dishes rate highly but there is nothing that is not delicious and repeatable (having been many times in the last two years) reservations a must. Please also know the restaurant is loud. some soft absorbent window fabric or roof tiles would go a long way to soften the bouncing of sound.
